As CEO and president, he was responsible for building a small, family owned distribution company into one of the nation's leading sellers of beauty products and supplies. Through his management of Mercury Distributing Company, Nave has had close business contact and developed long term relationships with the senior management and key decision makers from the major beauty products open line manufacturers.
After selling the distribution business, he started and operated a media communications and publishing company. Through the successful creation of two trade magazines, Nave has been able to utilize his intimate knowledge of and connections in the beauty industry by focusing on salon store needs from product manufacturers, distributors, reps and sundry suppliers. Based upon his industry relationships, he was able to enroll over 100 major beauty companies as regular advertisers in these two trade publications. In 1997, Nave started publishing the Beauty Industry Report, the only executive newsletter serving the professional salon and beauty store market. His in depth knowledge of the industry and wide spread contacts with key management personnel of the majority of the exclusively distributed salon brands, provides Nave with intimate knowledge of the professional beauty business.
